Getting started
- Install PagesealInstall the app in your Shopify store and open it from Apps.
- Upload a bookDrop in an EPUB, a PDF or an audiobook (MP3, M4B, M4A or a ZIP of MP3s). One book can hold all three.
- Read the check reportGreen means clean, yellow looks worse on a device, red means buyers would get a broken book. Each finding says what to change in your export.
- Assign the productPick the Shopify product or variant that sells this book.
- Go live and testSwitch the book live and place a Shopify test order; test orders are free.
What does the check report mean?
Pageseal checks every EPUB with EPUBCheck and DAISY Ace and shows real pages from Apple Books (iPhone and iPad), an Android reader, Readium and Kindle via Send to Kindle. PDFs and audiobooks get a technical check. Choose “reflowable” or “fixed layout” if the check should compare the file with what you intended.
How do I set download limits and link expiry?
In Settings, choose how many downloads each buyer gets (for example five or ten) and how long the link is valid. After a refund the link is blocked.
Can the delivery email look like my shop?
Yes. The email uses your shop name, logo and colours. From Pro you write your own subject and introduction and the small Pageseal note disappears.
What do I do when I find a copy online?
Download the file and upload it in Leak search. Pageseal reads the hidden identifier and names the order. You can block that copy. From Starter you also see the buyer’s name and get drafts for a takedown notice and a letter to the buyer; you decide whether to send them.
How do plans and copies work?
One copy is one sale of a book, with all its formats. Plans: Free ($0 a month, first 5 copies free once, then $0.75 per copy), Starter ($15 a month, 40 copies included, then $0.69), Pro ($79, 200 copies, then $0.59) and Scale ($299, 1,500 copies, then $0.49). Fees appear on your Shopify invoice every 30 days. Without a confirmed plan, orders after the free copies wait until you choose one.
Pre-orders and release day
From Starter, set a release day per book. Orders before that day get no download; on the day, buyers receive the email with their link.
Data, deletion and the DPA
Data is stored on servers in Germany. A data processing agreement is included; details on the security page. When you uninstall the app, Shopify’s mandatory webhooks trigger the deletion.
